| Imagery & Table Tennis - Part 2 |
|
| Types of Imagery Visualisation normally takes two forms.
1- Internal Imagery where the perspective is as if you had a camera on your head.
2- External Imagery where you view yourself from the perspective of an external observer outside yourself. You can switch back and forth between these two types of imagery. |you need a good, clear, controllable image, regardless of whether it?s external or internal. This seems to be an important aspect!
Visualisation Basics
Successful visualisation seems to rely on 1) vividness and 2) Controllability .
1- Vividness
Good visualisers try to make use of all their senses attempting to make their images as vivid and detailed as possible. They pay particular attention to all of their surroundings. You should try to do the same.
2- Controllability
Another key to successful imagery is manipulating and controlling your images in your head based on what you want the outcomes to be. That way you can make them do what you want them to do! You can make them appear as you want them to appear
