| Getting Ready To Do Battle |
|
| If you wanted to perform to the best of your ability you''d want to prepare both physically and mentally in advance if possible. When taking part in a competitive event it would be beneficial before-hand to eat a meal made up mainly of carbohydrates and fluids.
Carbohydrates and fluids stay in the stomach for a shorter time than proteins and fats do. This means that carbohydrates are also absorbed into the blood stream and turned into glucose (sugar aka energy) quickly, ready for action.
Here is a recommended list of carbohydrates to eat before a competitive event:
- Vegetables
- Beans
- Milk
- Breads
- Pasta
- Rice
- Potatoes
When taking part in a competitive game/event it''s important to gain a competitive edge in every way possible. Eating the right types of food before a competitive game will provide you with an advantage in terms of the way the body distributes energy over the course of the event.
