DHS Greenhouse Progress Table Tennis Club News Article

Date: Feb 9 2010 8:57PM Weekend 3 - Premier Division British League Weekend 3 of the Premier Division British League at Southall Sports Centre showed why Progress is one of the most successful clubs in British history. Not only was the Table Tennis of high quality but lots of members and visitors showed up to support the team and help out at the club. We played a strong squad with Daniel Basterfield (currently National Junior Champion) in at 4. He is improving and learning with every match. Young Igor Morais was also due to play but needs to adjust his attitude to be a really top player. Our first match was against Ellenborough who have been flying high but we ran out 8-0 winners with some very strong performances from all the team. Da Qing played some super Table Tennis using his strong forehand to destroy his opposition. Barry started slowly but soon got going and played some unbelievable shots to take two. Daniel played well to dominate his opponents from start to finish. The second match in the afternoon against Westfield was a little more difficult but we ran out 5-3 winners to push us up to second in the table. Barry was the hero winning his 2 with Jason, Da Qing and Daniel taking 1 match each.
