- In July 2008 DHS London Progress joined with The Greenhouse Schools Project
in a venture that resulted in DHS Greenhouse Progress table tennis Club.
|
- After winning the National League for 10 consecutive
years Jon Kaufman decided to retire after managing the club for 20 years. This event
signalled a chance for DHS London Progress to cement its role in providing a natural
'place' for players to continue to inprove their game after involvement with the
GreenHouse project. This led to the discovery of a very natural fit with the aims
of GreenHouse TTK and in July 2008 DHS London Progress joined with Greenhouse TTK
creating DHS GreenHouse Progress with DHS continuing as key sponsor.
|
- DHS Greenhouse Progress Table-Tennis club is a thriving
club that is homed primarily in Southall four times a week, and twice a week at
Kensington Leisure Centre, that provides local table tennis services to several
local schools, several times a week, instead of their regular Physical Education
classes.
|
- The Club started out as a once-a-week after school
club at Willesden High School in North West London. The club immediately opened
its doors to the local and wider community and quickly established itself as the
most cosmopolitan and popular club in London and probably Britain.
|
- The club's achievements were built on a powerful
mix of grass-roots training and excellence. After dominating the local leagues the
club then entered a team in the British League.
